Avalon International Breads bakes fresh hearth breads and pastries with 100% organic flour. The bakery opened in the Cass Corridor in 1997 and has since expanded to five locations. Avalon is committed to diversity, sustainability, employee growth and has it's purpose is to nourish and inspire our community to eat well and do good.
What Good Food Means to Us Avalon International Breads on Willis sources produce locally whenever possible, and offers healthy and plant-based menu items. It donates and contributes to the Detroit community via product donation, engagement, and sponsorship of local organizations, as well as cultivation of community partnerships and encouraging a welcome environment to all. It recycles and composts the vast majority of its waste and purchases sustainably-produced packaging. It promotes, teaches, listens, and hires from within to offer and encourage continuous learning and personal growth. Avalon has come far, but has a lot to learn and room to grow.
