Banning plastic and turning empty city land into farms - they were just two of the big ideas shared at the world's biggest business festival.

The International Business Festival is bringing thousands of delegates around the world to Liverpool this month to do deals and discuss what the future holds for workers and businesses.

Today, the environment was top of the agenda at International Sustainable Energy Day.

Speakers from Iceland explained how they were looking to BAN plastic packaging from ready meals, while Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram spoke again about his vision for a tidal barrage across the Mersey.

In a passionate speech that won her a standing ovation, Devita Davison, of FoodLab Detroit, talked about how urban farms are bringing locally-grown food to the people of Detroit.
