Jess: "I met Hildie very early in her business and right away I loved the concept! Since we pride ourselves on making having a "not quite ordinary" product, I loved their creativity and fun flavors combinations. I couldn't wait to see what they could do with our vinegars. They have made boozy ice pops with our vinegars each season and this past year they used an exclusive, Saskatoon Rhubarb, flavor.

Hildie never misses an opportunity and her drive is inspiring. I've certainly had points in growing my business where I felt exhausted and then I'd see Hildie doing something huge and I'd think "Man, I better get back my hustle!"

Hildie: "I had purchased drinking vinegars from Jess before and when I first started The Detroit Pop Shop, I experimented with them in boozy popsicles. I then visited Jess at her Rustbelt location and struck up a conversation with her. She generously offered to meet with me and help me navigate the landscape! Her mentoring has been pivotal in our success! We have used her awesome product in some of our boozy shrubsicles! They are hot sellers and people are always intrigued about the unique flavor profiles!

I think we both shared a lot passion for our businesses and we both ended up motivating each other. Seeing Jess as a working mom with twin boys definitely gave me inspiration for this past year with Havana as a newborn and The Detroit Pop Shop in it's second year.

Being a part of FoodLab means being a part of something bigger, not just for us in a business sense, but in a community sense.  During our first meeting together, Jess said I definitely had to look into FoodLab and that it was a wonderful organization. That night I applied! It has been a wonderful sense of community and the opportunity to network and connect with other like-minded folks is priceless!"
